DrivingLicences.es was established to help British residents in Spain exchange their UK driving licence for a Spanish one.
We offer a full EU service, allowing people from any EU country to exchange their local driving licence for a Spanish licence. Among the countries we assist are Algeria, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Macedonia, Morocco, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Republic of Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
We can also help with Andorra, Japan, Korea, and Monaco, but the exchange is more difficult but still possible due to special rules.
This service is popular with people who do not speak Spanish and need help booking appointments, following instructions, and filling out forms.
As a member of DrivingLicences.es, you will receive a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the entire process. We will make your appointment (subject to availability) at a location of your choice in Spain. To avoid communication breakdowns, you will receive directions to the offices along with a letter in Spanish to present. Your paperwork is prepared for you and securely delivered to you in plenty of time; all you have to worry about is going to a medical centre for a brief health check to ensure that you are medically fit to drive (we will point you in the right direction based on where you live and also provide you with a guide for the medical process; do not get the medical until your appointment has been confirmed), taking some photographs, and making a few photocopies of your id.
Each step will be taken at your own pace by DrivingLicences.es. You will be able to update the system to let us know where you are in the process and what you need to do next. This eliminates all room for error. You will also be able to upload photos or scans of your documents as you go to ensure that everything is correct for you on the big day.
Our system is easy to follow. Nothing will stand in your way of obtaining your Spanish driver’s licence and becoming a fully registered Spanish road user (subject to the ultimate approval of the Spanish Government who has the final say on who is issued a driving licence). The process takes different amounts of time in different offices and regions, but the documentation required is the same across the board. Please keep in mind that the fee we charge is for the process, not the outcome. Nobody can ever guarantee the outcome (the Spanish Government ultimately decides).
